then he's pulling off his coat, not even bothering to try and hang it anyway and just dumps on the floor next to his gloves and singular shoe. }

And the shower would be a little complicated right now-- { he isn't saying why yet, but the reasons are twofold. } --so let's go with bed.

[ Thank the archons they're the only ones in this apartment right now because he'd die again if someone else had heard him say that. But it is in fact impossible for him to even think of starting to untie his boots until... until he'd confirmed that this was real? Until he had Ayato against him or under him or...? There's that flash of guilt that happens every time he's seen his lord in some state of injury, as if it's fault directly that he's injured even though he knows reasonably that he can't protect Ayato every hour of the day. Even more so here, where all of them would head out for days at a time on quests. ]

[ All the same, his eyes soften, but he holds back those unwarranted feelings of guilt and failure of protecting Ayato to focus on him and his words. If he lets himself get caught up in this, he feels like they'll never be able to step past their relationship as master and servant, and it'd hurt too much to lose that chance. So he reaches out instead, letting his hand fall to Ayato's waist opposite that patch and leans in to murmur softly. ]

[ Emboldened, he dares to press a kiss over Ayato's shoulder, in part to hide the small, shy smile he gives as he hopes again. ]

{ he hyper focuses on thoma's face, checking for signs of his feelings and thoughts as he processes this. it isn't the first time he's been injured, nor will it likely be the last, but it's not as though he doesn't know the outcomes.

and then when that softer way he's looked at happens he lets out a small sigh of relief. his eyes close for a moment, relishes in the feeling of his hand on his skin again. his hand moves to the back of thoma's neck, fingertips delving into his hair, lightly pulling at the tie there. }

{ it's a quiet murmur, and he forces his eyes open again just in case he misses anything, even if thoma's head is tipped down to kiss against his skin. at least this gives him easier access to murmur quietly in his ear as well. }

[ And honestly Ayato's injury is helping a lot in his self-control, because he doesn't push the clan leader back onto the bed as he may have been tempted to when he was in a dazed state of mind. Undoubtedly getting one edge of the bed wet in the process. { it's incredible that someone so eloquent the majority of the time almost ends up a garbled mess at the words thoma says. ayato struggles, he's been struggling the last few weeks to try and put the words together and the reality is he still wasn't prepared despite trying to make this very clear here and now.

he hadn't wanted a repeat of last time, where they shuffled awkward around each other, not knowing how to act anymore.

so, for a long moment, all he can do is show it on his face. he lets his expression actually show what he feels. he shows the affection and adoration he has for thoma. he shows how much he means to him, how much he'd try to keep him safe and out of harm. how much these touches and kisses mean.

his hands move from their places at the back of thoma's neck, on his arm, to gently cup his face in both hands, drinking in the sight thoma makes when he looks at him like that. }
