Hello, Thoma. I was wondering if you were busy today?

I'm free for a few hours today.

Is something going on?

[ Ayaka doesn't have big dreams. She just wants the people she cares about to be happy, and to have a house with a garden. It helps to have a nice scenery when you're out having tea, to have a place where you can train, and generally? Houses with gardens are bigger ones. That means she and Ayato will have more space to work! And bigger houses mean more rooms, so Cloud can finally come live with her when the time finally comes. :D

In order to make such dreams come true, however, Ayaka has to find work. She's already helping out at the botanical gardens, but perhaps her wants are spurring her to work a little more than someone normally would. For this particular job, they're supposed to visit a shop in Blossomcrown and assemble some furniture. Ayaka was told that she would receive discounts for helping out, which would mean finding furniture for her future house won't be too difficult if this becomes successful! And so, for the additional factor to make this successful? She has sought the aid of Thoma.

Surely assembling a desk won't be too difficult! She and Thoma are left by the staff in one of the rooms so that they can work together and build a desk. ]

The manual says... there are thirteen parts to this desk.

How is it?

[ It was, as always, his honor to help Ayaka with whatever she needed. Though moreso recently, he was beginning to enjoy it more as a friend than a servant, something still new to him but he's working on it! To think that one can build furniture in this manner... I never knew!

[ You can build it in parts, Thoma! An entire giant table doesn't have to be delivered to your doorstep!!! ]

[ He chuckles as he continues organizing the pieces as neatly as he can. Screws and bolts are placed neatly in tight circles where they won't accidentally be stepped on... ]

I'm just as amazed as well. I always thought furniture making was left to experienced craftsmen.

After today, we shall be the experienced craftsmen.

[ Move over, Amenoma blacksmiths!!! The Kamisatos are in town. ]

Imagine, if you would, once we move to a bigger house and we all work together to build the furniture. I think it would be such an enjoyable experience for all of us!

[ That will be the day Thoma is over to clean the house all day and definitely not just there to much sure everything is okay... ]

I think we should put together a few more pieces of furniture before we take on an expert title. But it will certainly be fun to be able to create pieces for ourselves in the future. I imagine it'll also let us put our own personal touches on it.

We must make the surface first, so I believe we need this one, [ The large panel. ] and four of the screws— [ She shows Thoma what she means!

And it's basically adding the screws to the bottom surface of the panel to make way for the table's legs! ]

This is all it needs...?

I wonder how long pieces of furniture like this take to craft on average.

These drawings are not very informative, and there aren't even any words on the manual.

Surprisingly so. But I suppose these were crafted specifically to be put together by anyone, so they must have simplified the steps. Furniture crafting is an art passed down between generations, so I imagine it hasn't always been this simple.

Or the pieces are higher quality when created by a craftsman.
